Background & Challenges

The sports and recreational centre was opened in late 2016. As part of its continued development, a swimming pool complex was added in 2020, significantly expanding the range of activities offered. The facility includes various pools, such as a main swimming pool, a sports pool, and a recreational pool.

The complex was built by the local community to serve the needs of local residents. The swimming pool plant room is equipped with four filtration systems, which together operate a total of 13 Technol Adriatic filters, providing a combined filtration surface area of 34.9 m².

Description of backwashing procedure

  • Time backwash: 5min
  • Rinsing time: 3min
  • Backwashing speed: 50m/h
  • Rinsing speed: 30 m/h

Costs in 2025

  • Energy costs: 0.21€/kwh
  • Water and sewage costs: 2.5€/m3

Water consumption

  • Monthly water consumption:  847 m3
  • Annual water consumption:  10.163m3
  • Device Realtime efficiency:  85%
  • Heating ΔT = 16

Economic and Environmental Impact

The facility achieves annual big savings through the use of the Ultraecoswim device, with running costs already accounted for in the calculation. A medium sized facility is a good example of very fast return on investment.
In addition, the system contributes to a reduction of approximately 37 tons of CO₂ emissions per year, primarily resulting from decreased energy demand for water heating.

Conclusion

After approximately five years of operation, the device has fully achieved its intended purpose and has already paid off its initial investment. Since commissioning, it has operated reliably without the need for any major overhauls. Thanks to its well-designed system and optimal sizing, the device operates with low running and maintenance costs while maintaining a high efficiency ratio.
